June and her French husband spend time in France sourcing religious objects, and I was fortunate enough to acquire several antique crosses from her collection—including this beautiful French crucifix.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eAlso found while sourcing in Atlanta was the Edwardian-era rhinestone buckle that became its dramatic framework. I reimagined the two together, allowing the crucifix to sit within the sweeping architectural lines of the buckle, creating an almost sculptural piece of wearable art.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThe buckle retains its original stones, with some naturally darkened and blackened over more than a century. I intentionally left them untouched.
