A collector-worthy Elizabeth Taylor for Avon “Heart of Hollywood” brooch from the 1990s, reimagined as the dramatic centerpiece of this one-of-a-kind necklace. Introduced as part of Elizabeth Taylor’s Avon jewelry collections, the iconic heart design reflects her famously glamorous approach to jewelry, with ivory enamel, gold-tone detailing, faux pearls, rhinestones and a luminous simulated blue opal at its center. 

I paired the brooch with a 1950s thermoset bracelet, deconstructed and reworked into the collar. Soft powder-blue cabochons frame the heart, while one carved floral thermoset panel intentionally breaks the symmetry and gives the design an unexpected point of interest. A modern gold-tone chain completes the back.

The vintage bracelet components have been carefully cleaned and refurbished while preserving their history. Some original adhesive residue from the 1950s remains visible upon close inspection, consistent with the age and original construction of the piece.
